RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: 02/19/2019 <br />AGENDA REPORT AGENDA HEADING: Consent Calendar <br /> <br />AGENDA DESCRIPTION: <br /> <br />Consideration and possible action to award a professional services agreement for civil <br />engineering services regarding the Storm Drain Deficiency Improvement Program <br />(SDDIP), Year Two. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> <br />(1) Award a professional services contract to DCA Civil Engineering Group for civil <br />engineering study and design services for Year 2 projects identified in the Storm <br />Drain Deficiency Improvement Program, in an amount not to exceed $243,519. <br />(2) Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a professional services agreement <br />with DCA Civil Engineering Group, pending final approval as to form by the City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: The recommended action will result in a total authorized <br />expenditure of $243,519. Project Site Maps (page B-1) <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: <br /> <br />On November 17, 2015, the City Council received the Master Plan of Drainage (MPD) <br />update prepared to identify capacity and condition deficiencies in the City’s storm drain <br />system. The MPD is a City-wide, high-level evaluation of the City drainage system <br />meant to identify areas potentially at risk for flooding due to deficient capacity or due to <br />physical failure of the pipe. As part of the MPD, the areas of concern were prioritized <br />over a 10-year program for repairs or corrections. <br /> <br />1
