To: Dr. Don Austin, Superintendent
From: Lydia Cano, Deputy Superintendent
Date: November 6, 2015
RE: Update
Update on Ladera Linda Fields
On Thursday, Don and I met at the Ladera Linda Fields with a representative from AYSO as well as
several representatives from the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. We discussed the dirt that was
dropped off and the various concerns brought up by community members. Soil samples of the dirt
from Torrance have been collected and we expect to have a full report in seven to ten days. Alta
Environmental is the company we are using to test the soil. We will post the results on our website
when we receive it. We also discussed the grading issues, which are not an issue because the Storm
Drains are behind the area up the hill and in the event of a heavy rain, the mud would run down the
opposite direction. The last issue was the sign the AYSO has installed, which will be moved back
about ten feet to make sure it is only on District property.
Proposed Solar Project
The Notice of Public Hearing for the Proposed Solar Energy Purchase Power Agreement was posted
on Wednesday. We also posted the PowerPoint that was presented at the October 28, 2015 Board
Meeting by PFMG Solar. I am working with Bryce Chastain, Partner with Atkinson, Andelson, Loya,
Rudd and Romo on the review of the agreement. He will prepare the necessary Resolution for the
Board to consider at the November 18, 2015 Board Meeting.
Please call me if you have any questions.
MADE A PART OF THE EC ` A
VCIL MEETING OF e'
OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK
CARLA MORREALE, CITY CLERK
