RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />AGENDA DESCRIPTION: <br />MEETING DATE: 04/18/2017 <br />AGENDA HEADING: Consent Calendar <br />Consideration and possible action to authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br />Completion for the Annual Sidewalk Repair Program, FY15-16. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />(1) Accept the project as complete; <br />(2) Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project with the Los <br />Angeles County Recorder; and if no claims are filed within 35 days after <br />recordation, send a notice to the surety company to exonerate the Performance <br />Bond; and, <br />(3) Authorize the Director of Public Works to release the 5% construction retention <br />payment to Hardy & Harper, Inc., a California corporation, 35 days after <br />recordation of the Notice of Completion by the Los Angeles County Recorder, <br />contingent upon no claims being filed on the project, and the contractor posting <br />an acceptable warranty bond with the City. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: The final cost of the work was $327,102 and was completed within <br />budget. <br />Amount Budgeted: $333,300 <br />Additional Appropriation: N/A <br />Account Number(s): 202-400-3180-5201 <br />ORIGINATED BY: James Flannigan, Assistant Engineer <br />REVIEWED BY: Nicole Jules, PE, Deputy Director of Public Works <br />APPROVED BY: Doug Willmore, City Manager, lo -I -f <br />ATTACHED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS: <br />A. Project Location Map (Page B-1) <br />BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: <br />The City has completed construction of the Annual Sidewalk Repair and Replacement <br />Program Project. As requests to fix sidewalks come in throughout the year, they are <br />compiled into a database and are temporarily made safe by installing asphalt to smooth <br />the uplifted or damaged concrete.
