Howard De Ruyter claim (page A-1) <br />BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: <br />The claimant states that the he sustained damage to his vehicle after striking a large <br />rock in the roadway. The alleged incident occurred on January 12, 2017, and the claim <br />was filed on February 14, 2017. <br />The City's Claims Administrator, Carl Warren and Company, has reviewed the claim <br />and advised the City to reject it, due to the determination that the City does not own the <br />hillside from which the rock allegedly fell. The hillside belongs to two private owners, <br />not the City. Therefore, it does not appear as though the City has any liability for the <br />accident. <br />1 <br />
