Draft lease agreement (page B-1) <br />BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: <br />On May 17, 2016, the City Council conceptually approved leasing a 560 -square -foot <br />portion of the parking lot at Point Vicente Park/Civic Center to the Rancho de Los Palos <br />Verdes Historical Society (Society) for the placement of a storage/curation trailer <br />(Attachment A). Staff and the City Attorney's Office have drawn up a lease agreement <br />with the Society for this purpose (Attachment B). <br />The draft lease agreement sets the terms at $3.00/square foot for a period of two (2) <br />years, for an estimated annual payment of $1,680.00. As requested by the Society, two <br />(2) existing parking spaces adjacent to the lease area will be dedicated and reserved for <br />the Society's use. The conditions of the lease agreement obligate the Society to pay for <br />an access ramp and utility connections. <br />Mayor Dyda is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society. As such, the City <br />Attorney's Office suggests that Mayor Dyda may wish to recuse himself from the City <br />1 <br />
