REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 11, 2026
CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Palos Verdes Planning Commission was called to order by Chair
Nulman at 7:00 P.M. in accordance with the requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act, Section 54950
et seq. of the Government Code. Remote participation by any Planning Commissioner shall be in
accordance with Subdivisions (b)(1) as amended of Government Code Section 54953.4 (b)(1). The
meetings are held at Hesse Park, McTaggart. Hall, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard and/or via
teleconference for staff/consultants/participants using the Zoom platform and broadcast live on the
City's website at rpvca.gov/agendas .and on PVPtv channels Cox 35 and Frontier FiberOptic 39.
Members of the public could observe and participate using the zoom participation feature and in
person.

City Council Items: None
Staff: On August 2, the Community Development Department hosted a pop-up event for the
Conservation and Open Space Element Update at the Ladera Linda Community Center. The next
public outreach event will be held on August 22 at the Concert at the Park event at City Hall/ Ken
Dyda Civic Center.
The public hearing item on the August 25 agenda may be rescheduled pending additional
information from the applicant.

COMMISSIONER DE SOUZA MOVED SECONDED BY VICE CHAIR GEORGE TO APPROVE THE
CONSENT CALENDAR. MOTION PASSED ON A VOTE OF 6-0 WITH COMMISSIONER O'CONNOR
ABSENT.

Assistant City Attorney Parker gave a presentation on the. Brown Act and Ex Parte Communication.
VICE CHAIR GEORGE MOVED SECONED BY CHAIR NULMAN TO RECEIVE AND FILE A REPORT ON
THE BROWN ACT AND EX PARTE COMMUNICATION TRAINING. MOTION PASSED ON A VOTE OF
6-0 WITH COMMISSIONER O'CONNOR ABSENT.
