as cut-through routes.
• Ideal Livability Volume:
Often considered ideal to
have under 1,000 trips per
day to maintain a high
quality of life.
• Ideal/Local Streets: Many
municipalities set a goal of
less than 500 to 1,000
vehicles per day for
residential streets.
• Local Collector Streets:
These may carry higher
volumes, often cited as up
to 7,500 vehicles per day.
