AGENDA TITLE:
Consideration and possible action to accept Gifts for Parks donations.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
(1) Accept Gifts for Parks donations, and direct Staff to prepare donor letters of
appreciation for the Mayor’s signature.
FISCAL IMPACT: The donations are included in the adopted budget for FY 2024 -25
and will be offset by expenditures required for the intended purpose of the donations. Any
remaining donations will be tracked in the donation account until fully expended. VR

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
The City’s Gifts for Parks Program, established in 1982, provides a means by which
interested individuals, organizations, and/or businesses may contribute funds or
merchandise to enhance the City’s Recreation and Parks facilities and programs.
Donations, as prescribed by law, are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
The City has received a total of $54,533 in donations between September 1, 2024 and
January 31, 2025.

CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends that the City Council accept all Gifts for Parks donations, and direct
Staff to prepare letters of appreciation for the Mayor’s signature.

the City Council’s consideration:
