AGENDA TITLE:
Consideration and possible action to appoint City Council Members to intergovernmental
organizations, associations, and City subcommittees for 2022.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
(1)Appoint the members of the City Council to the various intergovernmental
organizations, associations, and City subcommittees for 2022; and
(2)Direct Staff to notify the various agencies of the City Council’s decision.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
City Council members represent the City on various intergovernmental agencies and
associations that consider policy and legislation that directly affects the City. In addition,
City Council members serve on City Council Ad Hoc and Standing Subcommittees.
Assignments to these organizations, associations, and committees have traditionally
been made after the annual City Council reorganization and selection of the Mayor in
December of each year.
Following the December 7, 2021, City Council reorganization, Staff sent the current list of
assignments to all City Council members so that each member would have the

opportunity to review the meeting dates and times, along with any Form 700
requirements. The meeting times and other criteria (Attachment A) are attached for
Council reference. After the appointments are made, Staff will notify each of the agencies
regarding that decision as directed by the City Council.
The 2022 Council Assignments has been updated, with minimal changes, for
consideration by the City Council. For 2022, the City Council at the December 7 meeting
requested adding a subcommittee for the planning of the City’s 50th anniversary. This new
subcommittee has been added to attached list of committees (Attachment A).
Additionally, the Mayor is recommending that the Litigation Monitoring Ad Hoc Committee
be removed.
It should be noted that Staff member, Associate Planner Robert Nemeth, attends the LAX
Community Noise Roundtable meetings. Additionally, the City Manager and Deputy City
Manager also attend the Peninsula Public Safety and Regional Law Enforcement
Committee meetings along with the City Council delegates assigned to that committee.
