At the January 21, 2020, City Council meeting, appointments to advisory boards were made, including the appointment of Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) Member Julie Hamill to the Planning Commission. This appointment left a special vacancy on the TSC. On January 28, 2020, the recruitment to fill the TSC special vacancy began. A special vacancy notice was posted according to California Government Code Section 54974. At the conclusion of the recruitment on February 21, 2020, six applications were received. Earlier this evening (March 4, 2020), the City Council interviewed those persons interested in serving on the TSC. Staff will distribute ballots listing the candidates so that the City Council can appoint one TSC member for an unexpired term of office ending in February 2023. In compliance with the Brown Act, the City Clerk will read each Councilmember’s ballot(s) into the record at the meeting. 1
