Agreement with Ardurra Group, Inc. (page A-1 forthcoming) BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: At the April 16, 2019, City Council meeting, Staff presented three conceptual options for redesign of the parking lot at Fred Hesse, Jr. Community Park. The council unanimously selected the third conceptual option. To prepare the final design drawings and specifications, Staff obtained a proposal from Ardurra Group, Inc., formerly AndersonPenna Partners, Inc. (Ardurra). This proposal is based on the third design concept presented to City Council on April 16 and discussions with City Staff, including a visit to the site. Staff is confident that the proposal from Ardurra not only allows the design work to be completed at a cost much closer to original Staff estimates, but will result in a construction project that meets the expectations of the City Council while being in line with original budget estimates for construction. 1 Therefore, Staff recommends the council award the professional services agreement to Ardurra and authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement. ALTERNATIVES: In addition to the Staff’s recommendations, the following alternative is available for the City Council’s consideration: 1. Reject Ardurra Group, Inc.’s proposal and direct Public Works to issue a Request for Proposals for design services. 2
