AGENDA DESCRIPTION:
Consideration and possible action to authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion
for the Point Vicente Interpretive Center (PVIC) Exhibit Replacement project.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
(1) Accept the project as complete;
(2) Authorize the City Manager to execute a Notice of Completion for the project;
(3) Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the project with the
Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office;
(4) Authorize the release of the 5% construction retention payments to Taylor Studios
if no claims are filed within 35 days after recordation;
FISCAL IMPACT: The contract amount $214,285.45

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On November 7, 2018, the City awarded a construction contract to Taylor Studios, Inc.
for the Point Vicente Interpretive Center Exhibits Replacement (PVIC Exhibits) project.
Work was initially completed April 5, 2019, and a Grand Opening was held during the
City’s Whale of a Day festivities.

CONCLUSION:
Taylor Studios, Inc., has completed work as directed in accordance with the construction
