BACKGROUND:
On January 29, 2019, the City Council conducted interviews to fill vacancies on various City
advisory boards throughout the year. Applications of those not appointed remain on file with the
City Clerk for a period of one year.
DISCUSSION:
On April 30, 2019, recruitment began for two seats on the Emergency Preparedness Committee
due to expiring terms. Staff also reached out to those with applications on file with the City
Clerk’s Office. At the conclusion of the recruitment, the City received a total of eight residents
that expressed interest in serving. Six applicants were interviewed earlier this year, Member
Maizlish reapplied and Ms. Ruth Braswell submitted an application. Listed below are the
applicants.
The City Council will vote by ballot for two applicants. In compliance with the Brown Act, the City
Clerk will read each Council Member’s ballot into the record at the meeting.
