(1) Accept Gifts for Parks donations and direct Staff to prepare donor letters of
appreciation for the Mayor’s signature.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
The City’s Gifts for Parks Program, established in 1982, provides a means by which
interested individuals, organizations, and/or businesses may contribute funds or
merchandise for the enhancement of the City’s Recreation and Parks facilities and
programs. Donations, as prescribed by law, are tax deductible as charitable
contributions.
The City has received the following donations from July 1, 2018, through September
30, 2018:
Interpretive Center Amphitheatre Plaques ($1,500)
• Linda Eichhorn, in memory of Don Eichhorn
• John and Melinda Marshall, in memory of Elma P. Keawe
Interpretive Center Amphitheatre Row Plaque ($10,000)
• James Clifford, in memory of Robin Marie Ford-Clifford
