The resolution that is on the agenda tonight designates Peter Brown as the City's labor
negotiator with the assistance and consultation of Steve Larson,the Interim Human Resources
Manager.Mayor Pro Tem Campbell inquired if the language in the resolution could be further
clarified to provide that Peter will be City's sole negotiator with the cooperation and assistance
of Steve Larson.To that end,the words "in cooperation and consultation with Steve Larson ..."
could be replaced with the words "with the cooperation and assistance of Steve Larson ..."
Current lang~age:
;;Section 4:Peter Brown,the City's Labor Relations Counsel,in coop~rati~n and consultation
with Steve Larson,the Interim Human Resources Manager,is authorized and directed to
implement this resolution in conformance with the MMBA and to serve as the City's principal
management representative in all matters of employer-employee relations,and they shall serve
as the City's representatives to meet and confer with the Association,as required by the
MMBA."
Alternative language:
"Section 4:Peter Brown,the City's Labor Relations Counsel,with the cooperation and
assistance of Steve Larson,the Interim Human Resources Manager,is authorized and directed
to implement this resolution in conformance with the MMBA and to serve as the City'sprincipal
management representative in all matters of employer-employee relations,and they shall serve

If the Council concurs that this change should be made,it can be read into the record before the
resolution is adopted.

Subject:Labor Relations attorney agreement
I have the following questions with respect to the errors and omissions insurance
referred to in the agreement.
a.What is the amount of the errors and omissions insurance?
b.Does the errors and omissions insurance cover the cost or is it merely a loan at
interest for any amount that's paid to be returned to the insurance company?
