A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING, RESTATING AND
SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION NO. 2018-31 SETTING THE SALARY
AND HOURLY COMPENSATION SCHEDULE FOR ALL EMPLOYEES
IN CITY SERVICE, BASED UPON A WAGE INCREASE COST OF
LIVING ADJUSTMENT FOR PART-TIME CLASSIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2018-31 on June 5, 2018,
to amend, restate and supersede Resolution No. 2017-61 that set the Salary and Hourly
Compensation Schedule for all employees in City Service, based on a wage increase
cost of living adjustment for competitive service, management and confidential
classifications; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend the City's Salary and Hourly
Compensation Schedule for all employees in City Service to reflect new salary ranges
for part-time classifications based on a 2.5% wage increase cost of living adjustment, as
approved by the City Council at the July 17, 2018 meeting, and as previously included
in the draft budget adopted by City Council on June 5, 2018, made effective the first full
pay period of FY18-19; and,
WHEREAS, Section 36506 of the California Government Code requires that the
City Council fix the compensation of all appointive officers and employees by resolution
or ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, Rule V of the City Of Rancho Palos Verdes Competitive Service
Employee Personnel Rules provides that employee compensation shall be determined
from a salary schedule of ranges established by Resolution of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council amends, restates and supersedes Resolution No.
2018-31 by adopting Resolution No. 2018-48 set forth in Exhibit "1," which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, and made effective July 7, 2018.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of July 2018.
