BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On April 2, 2018, recruitment began for one seat on the Traffic Safety Committee due to
a special vacancy, with an unexpired term of office ending in February 2021. The
recruitment was advertised and posted according to City Council Policy No. 6.
At the conclusion of the recruitment, the City received a total of four (4) applications
from residents interested in serving on the Traffic Safety Committee. The City Council
conducted interviews of the candidates on the evening of June 5, 2018, prior to the
regular City Council meeting.
Listed below are the applicants that the City Council interviewed. Staff will distribute
ballots listing the candidates so that the City Council can appoint a Committee member
at the City Council meeting. In compliance with the Brown Act, the City Clerk will read
each Councilmember’s ballot into the record at the meeting.
