The CORE (Community Resource)Police Team consists of two Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies. The CORE Team is predicated on the Sheriff Department's Community Oriented Policing concept, which is to identify and address community concerns in a pro-active manner before those concerns evolve into criminal activity. CORE focuses on issues affecting the juvenile population and those that negatively impact the quality of life in the community. The CORE deputies are in addition to the regular patrol and traffic enforcement personnel provided through the City's contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
