DISCUSSION On July 19,2011,the City Council adopted the Planning Commission's recommendation to preserve the existing code language regarding the temporary banner program,with the addition that 1)a maximum number of banners at each area at any given time be limited to two on a first come,first served basis,and 2)that Staff identify new locations for the placement of temporary banners.On September 1,2011,a public notice was sent to property owners within 500 feet of the proposed new locations,interested parties,and previous applicants for temporary banners. Due to a change in the City Council agenda relating to the employee pension issue,Staff is recommending that this public hearing item be continued to the October 4,2011 meeting. 1-2
