RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file the Staff Report.
DISCUSSION
On August 2,2011,the City Council voted (5-0)to open and continue the public hearing for the
special assessment lien for nuisance abatement costs at 28428 Cayuse Lane to the August 16th
City Council meeting.The purpose of the special assessment lien is to recover $8,380.64 in
expenses incurred by the City in bringing said property to compliance with the decision for View
Restoration Permit (VRP)No.2009-00017.Prior to the August 2nd hearing date,Staff learned
that through a recent foreclosure,the ownership of the property had reverted back to the lender,
Suntrust Bank.As a result,Staff recommended continuance of the special assessment hearing
to see if Staff could obtain payment of the owed expenses from Suntrust Bank.
On Monday,August 8,2011,Staff received a check from Suntrust Bank for $8,380.64,
representing the total amount of nuisance abatement costs owed.Accordingly,as the nuisance
abatement costs incurred by the City in bringing said property to compliance with the decision
for VRP No.2009-00017 have been paid,a Special Assessment lien against the real property
located at 28428 Cayuse Lane is no longer necessary.
