Appendix-IAppendix I 25th Street Interim Basin Solution· CITYOF PUBLIC WORI<S DEPARTMEI'iT Gordon Teuber Economic Development Director Harbor District Office, 638 Beacon Street,Room 552 San Pedro,CA 90731 July 15,2010 SAN RAMON CANYON -25TH STREET PROPERTY OWNER Gordon, At the June 17th meeting at RPV City Hall,you volunteered to contact the owner of the property in the San Ramon Canyon immediately above 25th Street to open the lines of communications.RPV agreed to extend Harris and Associates'design contract to include the creation of an exhibit that could be used to show the extent of the required easement.This design has been produced and is attached. The obtaining of an easement that would allow one or more of the following: •The opening of the existing inlet structure,located 15 to 20 feet below the existing grade •It may allow for a much improved design for the interim measure that CLA is currently proposing •It could allow for the construction of a sufficiently large debris basin to contain the debris flow from a large storm event and so reduce the possibility of flooding 25th Street •It will allow for future construction access for the "final solution" •It will provide the basis to do obtain an environmental clearance for any/all of the above •It will provide the flexibility to make decisions irrespective of constrains imposed by schedu Ie At the meeting,the idea of approaching the land owner was welcomed by both RPV and the County.The City representatives had some reservations,however we believe that it will a time consuming process and the sooner we start the process, the better.
