SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE
RANCHO PALOS VERDES REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 6, 2013
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chair Brooks at Fred Hesse Community
Park, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, and was immediately recessed into Closed Session.
The meeting reconvened at 10:48 P.M. by Chair Brooks at Fred Hesse Community Park,
29301 Hawthorne Blvd.
Successor Agency roll call was answered as follows:
PRESENT: Duhovic, Knight, Misetich and Chair Brooks
ABSENT: Campbell (excused)
Also present were Executive Director Carolyn Lehr, Assistant Executive Director/Interim
Director of Recreation and Parks Carolynn Petru, Finance Officer Dennis McLean, Agency
Counsel Carol Lynch, and Secretary Carla Morreale.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Chair Brooks moved, seconded by Member Misetich, to approve the Agenda, as presented.
The motion passed with the following roll call vote:

Palos Verdes Nature Preserve – Landowner Agreement for the Coastal Program
Grant Application for Abalone Cove Reserve (Supports 2013 City Council Goal – Trail
System Enhancement)
Authorized the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Successor Agency to the Rancho
Palos Verdes Redevelopment Agency (“SA”), to execute on behalf of the SA a Coastal
Program Landowner Agreement between the SA, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes (“City”),
which manages the Park pursuant to an easement previously conveyed to the City by the
Rancho Palos Verdes Redevelopment Agency, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land
Conservancy (“PVPLC”), and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (“Service”) for grant funds
that support habitat restoration and trail enhancement at the Abalone Cove Reserve, a
subarea of the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve.
Abalone Cove Shoreline Park Improvement Project – Land and Water Conservation
Fund Grant Contract (Supports 2013 City Council Goals – Increase Citizen
Involvement)
1) Designated the Executive Director as the Authorized Representative of the Successor
Agency for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Contract; 2) Accepted the terms
of the Grant Contract and Deed Restrictions associated with the Land and Water
Conservation Fund grant that was awarded to the City for the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park
Improvement Project; and, 3) Authorized the Memorandum of Unrecorded Grant Agreement
be recorded against the Property.

CLOSED SESSION REPORT:
Agency Counsel Lynch reported that with respect to the existing litigation (Joannou v City of
Rancho Palos Verdes), a report was provided and no action taken.
