RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution memorializing the City Council's approval of the transfer of a small
portion of the Deane Dana Friendship Park from the County of Los Angeles to the City
of Rancho Palos Verdes, which was authorized previously by the City Council on July
16, 2013.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On July 16, 2013, the City Council authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an
agreement with the County of Los Angeles for the transfer of 5.76 acres of land from
Deane Dana Friendship Park to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes for the purpose of
filling a portion of the San Ramon Canyon for the San Ramon Canyon Storm Water
Flood Reduction Project and authorized the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute
a certificate of acceptance on behalf of the City. Los Angeles County subsequently
informed Staff that in addition to the agreement, a resolution is also required. Adopting
this resolution would address the County's requirement.
CONCLUSION
Adopting staff's recommendation will result in the adoption of the attached resolution
setting forth the City Council's prior approval of this transaction between the City of
Rancho Palos Verdes and the County of Los Angeles.
