REVIEWED BY: Michael Throne, PE, Director of Public Works
APPROVED BY: Doug Willmore, City Manager 4- P„
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
In August 2011, the City Council selected Ron Dragoo, the City's Principal Civil
Engineer, to represent the City on the Board of Directors for the Abalone Cove
Landslide Abatement District. Mr. Dragoo had been serving in a similar capacity on the
Board of Directors of the Klondike Canyon Geologic Hazard Abatement District since
November 2009. While the City's Principal Engineer currently sits on both of these
boards, over time it has become apparent that it would be beneficial for a member of the
City Council to represent the City on each abatement district Board. This would enable
each Board to hear firsthand about City Council policy direction as it relates to the City's
management of City property and open space in each landslide area, and enable Board
activities to be brought directly to the City Council for information and action.
ACLAD meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Community
Room at City Hall. KCGHAD meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 PM at
Ladera Linda Community Center.
