Southern California Gas Company Advanced Meter slide presentation (page A-1) BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: Southern California Gas Company (SoCal Gas) is requesting permission to install 17 telecommunications devices (Advanced Meters) at various locations throughout the City. SoCal Gas had previously introduced the Advanced Meters wireless telecommunications technology to the City at the November 4, 2014 meeting. This advanced metering system is designed to automatically transmit gas usage to SoCal Gas' centralized customer service and billing center. SoCal Gas is expected to follow the regulations and procedures in the recently -adopted urgency ordinance regarding wireless telecommunications facilities, which went into effect on January 19, 2016. Ms. Faviola Ochoa, Public Affairs Manager, will give a brief presentation at tonight's meeting (Attachment A) regarding the project and proposed locations for the metering devices. 1 ADVANCEDmeter •2r4 OP 5 PS9 m A;C 15:'ofT Amm -0 - -.
