A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF THE CITY TO FILE APPLICATION
WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES (Cal OES).
WHEREAS, State Cal OES ensures that local jurisdictions meet federal and
state eligibility requirements defined in the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency
Assistance Act as amended, 44 CFR 302; and
WHEREAS, applications to be filed under the laws specified in this resolution are to
be signed by one of the following City officials:
• City Manager
• Deputy City Manager
• Finance Director
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That this City Council hereby authorizes the aforementioned officials of the City of Rancho
Palos Verdes to execute for and on behalf of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, a public
entity established under the laws of the State of California, to make application and to file
it in the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) for the purpose of obtaining
certain federal assistance under P.L. 93-288, as amended by the Robert T. Stafford
Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988; and/or state financial assistance
under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act:
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February, 2016.
