PC RES 1994-049P.C. RESOLUTION NO. 94-49 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVE ZONE CHANGE NO. 23, THEREBY ALLOWING THE RELOCATION OF THE EXISTING COASTAL SETBACK LINE SEAWARD, TO THE TOP OF THE BLUFF (APPROXIMATELY 40'-0" FROM THE REAR OF THE HOUSE) AT 16 SEACOVE DRIVE WHEREAS, the applicant, Mr Greg Gawlick, has requested Zone Change No 23, to allow the relocation of the existing Coastal Setback Line seaward from its current location to the top of the bluff, which is approximately 40'-0" from the rear of the existing residence, and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act, (CEQA) and local CEQA guidelines, the proposed project has been found to be categorically exempt, and, WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions of the Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code, a duly noticed public hearing was held on September 27, 1994, at which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present evidence, and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission duly considered the current available geotechnical information provided by the applicant, that has been reviewed and confirmed by the City's Geotechnical Consultant, which supports the relocation of the Coastal Setback Line seaward, as requested. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS Section 1: That the relocation of the existing Coastal Setback Line to the top of the bluff is a reasonable request since current available information indicates that it is geologically feasible to do so and that further development of the property will not be detrimental to the public health, safety, and welfare Section 2: For the foregoing reasons and based on the information and findings included in the Staff report, and records of the proceedings, the Planning Commission hereby approves Zone Change No 23 for the property at 16 Seacove Drive • PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 27th day of September 1994 Gilbert Alberio, Chairman BretBevard, 4CP Direlor of Plarindg Building & Code Enforcement, and Secretary to the Planning Commission dskll/zc23re PC Resolution No 9449 Page 2 of 2
