RESOLUTION NO. 90-55 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 153 REVISION FOR AN INCREASE IN THE CANOPY HEIGHT AT 31186 HAWTHORNE BLVD. WHEREAS, Unocal has requested a Conditional Use Permit Revision for the correct overall canopy height of 18'-8" at 31186 Hawthorne Blvd.; and WHEREAS, after notice pursuant to the Development Code, a public hearing was held by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, October 23, 1990, at which time all interested parties were given the opportunity to give testimony and present evidence. NOW, THEREFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the subject site is adequate in size and shape to accommodate the intended use. The use has existed since prior to the City's incorporation and is consistent with the center's zoning classification. Section 2: That the site is serviced by Hawthorne Blvd. and Palos Verdes Drive West whose capacity is adequate to serve the site and the existing use. Section 3: That there will be no significant adverse effects on adjacent properties in approving the request for the increase in the canopy's clearance. View analyses were performed from surrounding residential properties and it was found that the lines of site towards the ocean and Catalina Island from these properties were well above the existing canopy. Section 4: That the approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 153 Revision will not be contrary to the objectives of the General Plan in that the existing use complies with the General Plan and zoning land use designations. Section 5: For the foregoing reasons and based on information and findings in the Staff Report, the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby approve Conditional Use Permit No. 153 Revision subject to the conditions contained in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, which are necessary to preserve the public health, safety, and general welfare in the area. 17J • PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of October 1990 Robert Benard, Director of i Environmental Services and Secretary to the Commission Robert McAult Chairman P.C.
