A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING
TENNIS COURT LIGHTING CONSISTENT WITH
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 19, CONDITION No. 5
WHEREAS, The Hill Community Association has requested review
and approval for tennis court lighting per condition no. 5 of
Conditional Use Permit No. 19 for Tentative Tract No. 32677 for
eight 20 foot high, 1000 watt, horizontally mounted metal halide
lights at The Hill Top Community's tennis court located on Hilltop
Circle; and
WHEREAS, after notice pursuant to the Development Code,
public hearings were held on Tuesday, July 24, 1990, at which time
all interested parties were given the opportunity to give
testimony and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: There will be no significant or adverse
effects on adjacent properties or the permitted use resulting from
this project due to shielding and limitations on the time of use.
Section 2: That approval of the tennis court lights will not
be contrary to the objectives of the General Plan in that controls
would be imposed to preserve the existing visual aspects from
future degradation through conditions of approval.
Section 3: That the shielding and use limitations will
not cause negative impacts to Hilltop Circle and Highridge which
are the streets which service the site.
Section 4: For the foregoing reasons, and based on
information and findings included in the staff report, minutes and
evidence presented at the public hearing, the Planning Commission
of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby approve the
tennis court lighting per Conditional Use Permit No. 19,
Condition No. 5, subject to the conditions contained in Exhibit
"A", attached hereto and made a part hereof, which are necessary
to preserve the public health, safety and general welfare in the
area.

EXHIBIT "A"
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
1. The use of the tennis courts lights shall be permitted only
between the hours of dusk and 10: 00 p.m. each day of the
week.
2. A time-operated device shall be maintained on the tennis court
premises to insure that the tennis court lights are on only
while the court is in use.
3. The petitioners shall be responsible for calling for a
night inspection by Planning Staff, 30 days after installation
and prior to final inspection by Building and Safety, to
insure that the lights only illuminate the tennis court on the
Hill Top Community' s property.
