P.C. RESOLUTION NO. 89-71.
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING SIGN PERMIT
NO. 376 AND 476 EXTENSION FOR THE TERRACES LOCATED
AT 28901 WESTERN AVENUE.
WHEREAS, B.P.T. California, Inc. has requested approval of a
time extension for Sign Permit Nos. 376 and 476 to allow an
existing temporary freestanding leasing/construction announcement
sign and an existing temporary leasing office sign to remain for
an addition six month period at the Terraces located at 28901
Western Avenue;
WHEREAS, a hearing was held on November 28, 1989, at which
time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard
and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : That the granting of the six month extension for
Sign Permit Nos. 376 and 476 will not be contrary to the
objectives of Specific Plan II or of the General Plan in that
existing signage complies with Specific Plan II, the General Plan
and the Development Code standards.
Section 2: That the granting of the sign permit extension
will serve to identify the general nature of the Terraces and to
direct attention to the place, person, organization, or enterprise
and it does not subject the citizens of the City to signage that
is excessively competing for their visual attention.
Section 3: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby approve
sign Permit No. 376 and 476 extension, subject to the conditions
of approval attached in Exhibit "A" .
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED the 28th day of November, 1989.

E X H I B I T "A"
1. The freestanding leasing/construction announcement sign shall
not exceed 9'-8" in overall height and 5'-6" in width and
shall be a two-sided 90 -degree angle sign. All attached
riders indicating any tenants names shall be removed within
seven calendar days. The sign colors, copy, and location
shall conform to the previous sign approval (Sign Permit No.
376).
2. The leasing office sign shall be black channel letters 24"
tall. The leasing portion of the sign shall be 9'-10" long
and the "office" portion of the sign 8'-1" long, for a total
sign area of 36 square feet.
3. Both signs shall not be illuminated.
4. This approval expires on June 14, 1990. A three month
extension may be granted by the Director of Environmental
Services if requested in writing prior to expiration.
