P.C. RESOLUTION NO. 88- 44
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES UPHOLDING THE APPEAL
OF HEIGHT VARIATION NO. 514 WITH CONDITIONS FOR
1950 DELASONDE.
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Services denied Height
Variation No. 514; and
WHEREAS, on May 24, 1988, Mr. and Mrs. Marine filed an appeal
to the Planning Commission within 15 days of the decision of the
Director of Environmental Services; and
WHEREAS, on July 26, 1988 the Planning Commission considered
the appeal of staff's decision on the appeal of Height Variation
No. 514 at which time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The proposed structure as conditioned by staff is
designed and situated in such a manner as to minimize view
obstruction.
Section 2: View impairment for the portion of the proposed
addition over sixteen feet high does not significantly impair the
primary view from 2026 Delasonde as conditioned by staff which was
identified as having a view as set forth in the City's Development
Code.
Section 3: The proposed structure,is not located on a ridge
or promontory.
Section 4: The structure does not significantly impair a view
or vista from public property (parks, major thoroughfare,
bikeways, walkways, equestrian trails, etc.) which has been
identified in the City's General Plan, Coastal Plan, or city
approved viewing areas.
Section 5: There is no significant cumulative impact caused
by granting the application as conditioned by staff.
Section 6: That after consideration of the appeal of Height
Variation No. 514 on April 12, 1988, the PlanningLc8mmission
upheld the appeal at 1950 Delasonde subject to the conditions
contained in Exhibit "A".

EXHIBIT "A"
1. All landscaping on the subject property is maintained to
protect views, pursuant to Development Code Section
17.02.040C2, from surrounding properties.
2. A landscape covenant to guarantee the acceptance of Condition
No. 1 shall be submitted and recorded with the County of Los
Angeles to run with the land by the landowner. The covenant
must be approved by the Director of Environmental Services
prior to the issuance of building permits.
