PC RES 1988-026P.C. RESOLUTION NO. 88-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING VARIANCE NO. 198 (B) TO THE NONCONFORMING PROVISIONS OF THE DEVELOPMENT CODE RELATIVE TO PARKING AT 28041 HAWTHORNE BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, Mr. Paul Lupo has requested a Variance from the nonconforming provisions of the Development Code, relative to parking for an existing commercial building located in a residential zone at 28041 Hawthorne Boulevard; and WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions of the Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code, a public hearing was held on April 12, 1988 at which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That granting a Variance for parking would have a materially detrimental effect to the public health, safety and welfare since the existing parking lot is inadequate to accommodate full occupancy of the building and the excess demand for parking would result in congestion, higher potential for accidents and could impact circulation in the public right-of-way. Section 2: For the foregoing reason, the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby denies Variance No. 198 (B).
