A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING
COASTAL PERMIT NO. 48 AND ADDITIONAL GRADING
UNDER GRADING APPLICATION NO 1103 AT THE
WESTERN BOUNDARY OF THE PORTUGUESE BEND CLUB.
WHEREAS, on January 19, 1988 the Portuguese Bend Club
Homeowner's Association requested City approval for emergency
remedial grading, at the western portion of the Portuguese
Bend Club along the toe of the Portuguese Bend Landslide, to
protect several residences and ensure continuing access to
the area via Yacht Harbor Drive; and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 1988 the Director of
Environmental Services issued an emergency approval for a
coastal permit and grading approval to allow the Association
to carry out the emergency remedial grading; and
WHEREAS, the Association did not need to remove as much
earth to eliminate the emergency as the Director's approval
authorized; however, the Association requests advance
approval to carry out the remaining grading in the future if
necessary for landslide abatement; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on this request for advance
authorization to do additional grading was held before the
Planning Commission on March 22, 1988, at which time all
interested parties were given the opportunity to attend and
present testimony.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE

ensuring the continuing accessibility of Yacht Harbor Drive .
