A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES FOR A VARIANCE NO. 187
APPROVING A SECOND UPSLOPING RETAINING WALL AT 28603
MOUNT PALOMAR PLACE.
WHEREAS, Fernando and Elizabeth Formeloza have requested
a Variance for an existing second upsloping retaining wall
and an accessory structure and deck which encroaches into an
area of extreme slope (see P.C. Resolution No. 88 - )•a and
WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions
of the Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code, a public hearing
was held on February 9, 1988, at which time all interested
parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present
evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the second upslope retaining wall
provides necessary stabilization and erosion control to the
toe of the slope on the subject property.
`�* Section 2: That the existing 5 foot 6 inch wall does
not exceed the 8 foot maximum specified in the Development
Code -and is more than 3 feet away from the first 4 foot
retaining wall adjacent to the residence.
Section 3: That the existing retaining wall does not
have a negative visual impact or impair primary views on
adjacent properties.
Section 4: That approval of the second retaining wall
is not contrary to the General Plan.
Section 5: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves
the existing 5 foot 6 inch upslope retaining wall located in
the rear slope at 28603 Mt. Palomar Place.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 23rd day of February,
1988.
