PC RES 1987-030RESOLUTION P.C. NO. 87- 30
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING
VARIANCE NO. 157 AND AT 1861 HOMEWORTH DRIVE.
WHEREAS, Mr. Olin Williford has requested a Variance for
an existing garage conversion to living space at 1861
Homeworth Drive; and
WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions
of the Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code, a public hearing
was held on June 9, June 23, and June 30, 1987 at which time
all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard
and present evidence;
WHEREAS, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That there are no exceptional or extraordi-
nary circumstances or conditions applicable to the property
involved which do not apply generally to other properties in
the same zoning district, in that the lot shape, topography
and location is typical of older subdivisions in the Eastview
area.
Section 2: That said Variance is not necessary for the
preservation and enjoyment of a substantial property right of
the applicant, which right is not possessed by other property
owners under like conditions in the same zoning district, in
that the majority of the property is level and can be
developed to conform with Code setback, open space, height
and grading requirements.
Section 3: That said Variance would cause materially
detrimental effects on surrounding properties, in that
providing no enclosed parking could interfere with the
circulation in the narrow cul-de-sac and may have a
cumulative impact on circulation, security and aesthetic
problems in the neighborhood.
