A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 97, TO ALLOW THE EXISTING
TEMPORARY BUILDING TO REMAIN ON-SITE AND ALSO TO ALLOW A SECOND
TEMPORARY BUILDING TO BE PLACED ON-SITE AT ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH
WHEREAS, the applicant, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, located at 31290
Palos Verdes Drive West, has requested approval to retain an existing temporary
building and add a second on their site; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Tuesday, May 28, 1985, at which
time all interested parties were given the opportunity to give testimony and
present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the Church site is adequate in size and shape to
accommodate the existing building and the proposed second building on a temporary
basis only.
Section 2: That the site is served by a major arterial, Palos Verdes
Drive West, which is properly designed to carry the type and quantity of traffic
generated by the existing use, and the additional structure is not expected to
generate additional traffic.
Section 3: That there would be no significant adverse impact on adjacent
property or the permitted use thereof, because the use will be temporary in
nature and also due to the landscape requirements contained in Exhibit W,
attached hereto.
Section 4: That the use is not contrary to the General Plan, which
designates the site as appropriate for -the existing use.
Section b: That there would be no significant or negative environmental
impacts associated with the use, as it has been found to be Categorically Exempt
under the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act.
Section 6: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves Conditional Use Permit No. 97,
subject to the conditions contained in Exhibit W, attached hereto, which are
necessary to protect and preserve the public health, safety, and general
welfare in the area.

EXHIBIT 'A'
Conditional Use Permit No. 97 is approved subject to the following conditions:
(1) This approval shall expire two (2) years from the date of adoption of
this Resolution. Absolutely no extensions shall be granted.
(2) The applicant, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, shall obtain a temporary
parking lot permit to develop the 52 parking space easement on the
adjacent lot to the north. Said parking lot shall conform to Section
17.44.070 of the City's Development Code. SAM parking lot shall be
completed prior to occupancy of the new structure. All necessary permits
shall be obtained prior to improvement of the temporary parking lot.
(3) A landscape and irrigation plan shall be submitted to the Environmental
Services Department for the parking lot and around the temporary buildings,
for review and approval by the Director. Landscaping around the temporary
buildings may be in the form of potted plants.
(4) The City may periodically review compliance with the above conditions.
Should non-compliance be found, the City may initiate a public hearing
to reasses5this Conditional Use Permit.
(5) Both temporary buildings shall be removed from the site prior to June 11,
1987.
