RESOLUTION P. C. NO. 84-28
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT #92
AND THE DRAFT NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESSMENT NO. 454
WHEREAS, the Salvation Army has made application to construct a new
maintenance/storage building and install an underground gasoline tank on their
existing site at 30840 Hawthorne Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, after a public hearing was held on October 9, 1984, at which
time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present
evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The site is adequate in size and shape to accommodate the
proposed maintenance/storage facility and underground gasoline storage tank;
Section 2: The proposed improvements should not generate additional
vehicular traffic on Hawthorne Boulevard.
Section 3: That by approving said maintenance/storage facility and
underground gasoline tank at these specific locations, there will be no signif-
icant adverse effect on adjacent properties or the permitted uses thereof; and
Section 4: The proposed uses conform to the General Plan
Section 5: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves Conditional Use Permit No. 92, and
the Draft Negative Declaration for Environmental Assessment No. 454, subject to
conditions found in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 13th day of November, 1984.

EXHIBIT "A"
1. Installation of the underground gasoline tank and associate pump shall
meet all the requirements of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Building
Code, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and the South Coast Air
Quality Management District.
2. Any newly installed outdoor lighting associated witht this project shall
be approved by the Director of Environmental Services and shall be
adequately shielded to protect surrounding property owners from intrusive
illumination/glare.
3. Maintenance activities associated with this use shall not include vehicle
maintenance, repair, painting, or similar functions of vehicle mainten-
ance; hydraulic vehicle lifts are prohibited.
4. Assorted debris on slopes (broken concrete, dry brush, rubbish) shall be
removed from the site, and vegetation (weeds) shall be cleared away from
structures.
5. Hours for the dispensing of fuel to vehicles shall be limited to
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
