A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING
VARIANCE NO. 80
WHEREAS, Donald C. and Mary L. Stager have requested a variance for the
construction of a room addition which will exceed the thirty (30) foot height
limit on the property located at 28049 Lobrook; and
WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Development Code, a public hearing was held May 25, 1982, at which
time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present
evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That there are exceptional or extraordinaty-circdmstanCes,--
or conditions applicable to the property involved which apply generally to other
properties in the same zoning district since the existing ridge line of the
proposal will not change.
Section 2: That such variance is necessary -for the preservation -and
enjoyment of a substantial property right of the applicant, which right is
possessed by other property owners under -like conditions in the same zoning
district, because the height of the building envelope will not be changed.
Section 3: That the granting of the variance will not be-m&t.ei7ial-'-.-`
ly detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property and improvements
in the area in which the property is located because the proposal will not
obstruct a public or private view or vista.
Section 4: That the granting of such a variance will not be contrary
to the objectives of the General Plan because view impairment does not exist,
and there will be no changes to the ridge line.
Section 5: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves Variance No. 80.
