A RESOLUTION OF THE, PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES AMENDING CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT NO. 42 AS APPROVED BY THE PLANNING
COMMISSION IN RESOLUTION P.C. NO. 78-50.
WHEREAS, Marymount Palos Verdes College has requested an amendment to
Conditional Use Permit No. 42 which would permit the construction of student dormi-
tories and appurtenant facilities at 30800 Palos Verdes Drive East; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission discussed the revisions at its
regularly scheduled meeting of March 27, 1979 and public input was received.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the proposed amendments do not change Resolution P.C.
No. 78-50.
Section 2: That the proposed amendment does not increase the intensity
of use on the site nor does it increase the size of building footprints or the
maximum heights of structures.
'Section 3: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby grants approval to the amendment to Conditional
Use Permit No. 42, subject to the conditions found in Exhibit "A", which are necessary
to protect and preserve the health, safety, and general welfare in the area.

EXHIBIT "A"
Conditional Use Permit No. 42 is approved subject to Exhibit "A" 6f Resolution P.C.
No. 78-50 and the following conditions:
1. This approval expires twelve (12) months from the date of this resolution
unless building permits have been applied for.
2. Where no surface grading is proposed, grade elevations must be returned to the
natural condition after construction of the shear key.
3. The proposed slopes visible from Palos Verdes Drive East shall result in a
natural appearing sloping condition. Techniques employed shall be determined
and approved by the Director of Planning.
4. The developer shall, on the final grading plan, delineate the area which shall
be used for stockpiling any excavated earth and a protected maximum time frame
for stockpiling. This area and time frame shall be approved by the Director
of Planning.
5. Prior to issuance of building permits the developer shall submit an overall
construction plan to the Director of Planning. The contents of said plan shall
be determined by the Director.
6. Prior to issuance of any permits, the developer shall post a bond or other
acceptable security to ensure the proper completion of the proposed grading
(including the shear key) to the specifications of the County Engineer.
7. That the applicable criteria for landscaping listed in the November 14, 1978,
staff report be modified as of March 27, 1979, as follows:
G. Landscape materials proposed for screening the buildings from Palos Verdes
Drive East shall be sufficiently mature to perform their intended function
when installed.
