NO. 78-45 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE LIGHTING OF TWO (2) PADDLE TENNIS COURTS LOCATED ON SEAWALL ROAD IN THE PORTUGUESE BEND BEACH CLUB WHEREAS, the Portuguese Bend Homeowners Association has requested a conditional use permit for the -use of eight (8) paddle tennis court lights for the nighttime illu- mination of two such courts; and WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions of the City's Develop- ment Code, a public hearing was held on September 26, 1978, at which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and to present evidence. NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby find, determine, and resolve as follows: Section 1: That said lights are permitted in any district subject to the approval of a conditional use permit. Section 2: That the paddle tennis courts -already -exist and that the site is of adequate size and shape to accommodate said courts. Section 3: That the site is served by Yacht Harbor Drive and Seawall Road which are both private roads and that adequate parking is available for evening use of the facility. Section 4: That the proposed lights are compatible with the surrounding uses and that no significant adverse effects to adjacent properties will result since mitigation measures are required as conditions of approval. Section 5: That the subject use is not contrary to the General Plan. Section 6: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby grants a conditional use permit for the use described herein subject to the conditions found in Exhibit "A" of this resolution, which are necessary to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare in the area. After 7:00 a.m. every day. b. To 9:30 p.m. every day. 2. That shielding be extended and/or realignment of the fixtures be implemented to eliminate direct viewing of the light sources in the fixtures from surrounding residents, to be approved within thirty (30) days by the Director of Planning.
