Work Session
November 11, 1976
The meeting was called to order at 8:17 p.m. in City Hall.
PRESENT: McTaggart, Rosenberg, Shaw, Hughes (arrived at
8:17 p.m.)
ABSENT: Blue
ALSO PRESENT: Director of Planning Hightower, Associate Planner
Weber
Environmental Impact Report #3 for "The Hill", Cayman Development Com-
pany, was distributed. Applications for the project will be on the
next agenda.
The discussion of grading continued. Commissioner McTaggart proposed
some standards for dealing with lots of 35%+ slopes. These included:
regulate slope of access (20% maximum), allow cut for footprint and
access, allow fill to not create slopes steeper than 2:1, not allow
retaining wall higher than five feet.
Commissioners McTaggart and Huqhes will try to draft this proposal
over the weekend, also trying it on lots of less than 35 percent. The
staff will then analyze it and apply it to examples.
The Commission discussed Council's pending discussion of grading prob-
lems. It was decided that there were no additional concepts, etc. to
send to Council at this time.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m. to Thursday, November 18, at
7:30 p.m.
