Hightower ANTENNA REGULATIONS The Commission discussed the issues raised by staff in conjunction with antenna regulations, with the concen- sus that: (1) Ham radio antennas should be permitted on multi -family and RPD units. (2) Antennas used commercially should not be considered home occupations, but should re- quire a conditional use permit. (3) Antennas between 45 and 75 feet should require a Minor Exception Permit procedure. (4) Temporary an- tenna structures should be defined in Glossary; temporary structures erected for 30 days or less should be exempt from permit procedures. (5) Changes in antenna structures should be handled by a revision to the original Minor Exception Permit, if the new array is of substantially the same dimensions; if different, a new permit should be required. (6) More than two antennas under 45' should require a Minor Exception Permit;,more than two antennas over 451 should require a Variance. It was agreed that staff would revise the draft ordinance, incorporating the decisions made in the previous discussion and other changes to the draft. Peter Von Hagan, representing the Amateur Radio Club, expressed con- cern with the requirement for a Minor Exception Permit and fee, and stated that antennas should be always permitted up --,to 751, at least with a crank -up or tilt -up system. Mr. Rosenberg left at 10:00 p.m. and did not return for the remainder of the meeting. Mr. Blue left at 10:45 p.m. and did not return for the remainder of the meeting. Mrs. Shaw indicated she would be on vacation from August 20 through September 7. Mr. McTaggart indicated he would not miss any regular meetings. July 21 and 22 were agreed upon as possible dates for public hearings on the draft antenna ordinance. ADJOURNMENT At 11:15 p.m. it was moved, seconded and carried that the meeting be adjourned.
