RANCHO PALOS VERDES IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 2, 1997
The meeting was called to order at 10:30 P.M. by Chair Ferraro at the Hesse
Park Community Center, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard.
PRESENT: Lyon, Byrd, McTaggart, Hollingsworth, Chairman Ferraro
ABSENT: None
Also present were Chief Administrative Officer Paul D. Bussey; Commission
Attorney Carol Lynch; Planning, Building & Code Enforcement Director Carolynn
Petru; Director of Public Works Les Evans; Director of Finance Dennis McLean;
and Administrative Services Director /City Clerk Jo Purcell.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Lyon to approve the
Agenda. Motion carried.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Kathy Snell, 8 Vanderlip, spoke to the appropriation of Horan settlement funds.
Lois Larue questioned the location of Project Area No. 1 and the term
"improvement authority" versus "maintenance authority."
Commission Attorney Lynch noted that Improvement Authority was the name
under which this body was registered with the Secretary of State.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Hollingsworth to
approve the Consent Calendar as follows:
Resol. No. IA 97 -15 - Register of Demands (602 x 2200)
Adopted Resol. No. I.A. 97 -15 - a Resolution of the Rancho Palos Verdes
Improvement Authority allowing certain claims and demands and specifying
funds from which the same are to be paid.
The motion to approve the Consent Calendar carried on the following roll call
vote:
Ayes: Byrd, Lyon, McTaggart, Hollingsworth, & Chair Ferraro
Noes: None
AUDIENCE COMMENTS
Kathy Snell, 8 Vanderlip, inquired about status of the Horan settlement funds
used for Abalone Cove maintenance.
Staff explained that agreement is pending and the dollar amount was being
negotiated.
Lois Larue inquired about the use of the water taken from the dewatering wells.
ADJOURNMENT
At 10:40 P.M., the meeting was adjourned on motion of Commissioner Lyon.
