RDA MINS 19900606 M I N U T E S RANCHO PALOS VERDES REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY REGULAR MEETING JUNE 6, 1990 The meeting was called to order at 7 : 37 P.M. by Chairman Melvin W. Hughes, at Hesse Park Community Center, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard. PRESENT: HINCHLIFFE, BACHARACH, CHAIRMAN HUGHES ABSENT: RYAN, McTAGGART Also present were Executive Director William F. Cornett, Jr. , Deputy Executive Director Mark Rohloff, Director of Environmental Services Robert Benard, Director of Recreation and Parks Mary Thomas, Agency Attorney Ariel P. Calonne and Public Works Director George Wentz . APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Bacharach moved, seconded by Member Hinchliffe and carried to approve the agenda deleting the Register of Demands, since a voting quorum was not present. CONSENT CALENDAR The Consent Calendar was approved as follows on motion of Member Hinchliffe, seconded by Member Bacharach. MINUTES Approved the minutes of May 1 and May 15 , 1990 . The motion to approve the Consent Calendar passed 3-0 . # # # IMPROVEMENTS TO ABALONE Public Works Director George Wentz COVE SHORELINE PARK presented the June 6 memo from the Department of Public Works requesting direction from the Agency regarding the scope of work in the contract with Henry Construction for improvements at the park, and noting that an additional expenditure of $56, 196 from EET funds would cover all the work originally scheduled. Member Bacharach moved, seconded by Member Hinchliffe to approve the additional expenditure. Motion carried 3-0 . REQUEST FROM DEL SMITH Executive Director William F. & COMPANY FOR INCREASE Cornett, Jr. presented Mr. Smith' s IN RETAINER communication requesting an increase in his monthly retainer. Mr. Cornett stated that Mr. Smith had not presented specific expenses being incurred that would merit the increase, or if expense reports would also be submitted, so Mr. Cornett suggested continuing the request to the next meeting . Member Hinchliffe moved, seconded by Member Bacharach to I/ continue the item, and it carried without objection. STATUS OF DIRECTIVES No action was taken on this item. AUDIENCE QUESTIONS Steve Goppert, 36 Cinnamon Lane, asked for an update on the bonds issue, and asked if the liens were assumable by new property owners or could be paid off . Mr. Goppert also expressed concern that the potential debt service could not be handled by the current tax base.
