CC RES 1975-096 �, 1. , • CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 75-96 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY,. OR WELFARE REQUIRES THE FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN THE AREA ALONG AND ADJACENT TO VIGILANCE DRIVE, PHANTOM DRIVE, HEROIC DRIVE, SEARAVEN DRIVE, PIRATE DRIVE AND FORRESTAL DRIVE. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 38 establishes a procedure for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as an initial step in such procedure the holding of a public hearing to ascertain whether public necessi=ty, health, safety, or welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service in any such district; and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that such an underground utility district, hereinafter called District, be formed in the area along and adjacent to Vigilance Drive, Phantom, Drive, Heroic Drive, Searaven Drive, Pirate Drive and Forrestal Drive. WHEREAS, the City Council of Rancho Palos Verdes, by adoption of Resolution No. ?5-62 ordered improvement made for the conversion of overhead electric and communication facilities to underground locations in Barkentine Road and other rights of way under Rancho Palos Verdes Improvement District No. 1 and pursuant to provisions of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code. NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO - PALOS VERDES DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 . NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes on December 16, 1975 at the hour of 7:30 p.m. at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the underground installation of wires -and facilities for supplying electric, communication or similar or associated services and the removal of existing overhead electric and communication facilities within the area designated herein. SECTION 2'. At such hearing all persons interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard. Said hearing may be continued from time to time as may be determined by the City Council. ' b�.- • SECTION 3 The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned by mail of the time and place of such hearing at least ten (10) days prior to the date thereof. SECTION 4. The area proposed to be included in the District is shown upon that certain map entitled Forrestal Drive Underground Utility District, which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.
