CC RES 1975-013 RESOLUTION NO. 75-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A MICROWAVE RELAY STATION WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company has requested a conditional use permit for a microwave relay station, consisting of a one story equipment building 16 ' x 32 ' x 16 ' , with microwave disc attached, and an eight foot fence; and WHEREAS, after notice required by the City' s Zoning Ordi- nance, a public hearing was duly held on the requested conditional use permit on March 4 , 1975, at which time all interested parties were given a full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Said real property is in an RA-1 (1 acre) zone and pursuant to Section 208 (a) (22) of the City Zoning Ordinance, the proposed use is a permitted use under a conditional use permit. Said real property is described as a portion of Lot 52 of L.A.C.A. No. 51, as per map recorded in Book 1, Page 1 of Assessor' s Map, situated approximately 600 feet north of Crestridge Road and east of Highridge Road in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Section 2. The facilities to be located on said real proper- ty are adjacent to the existing Los Angeles County equipment station and transmitting/receiving towers; the contours of the site are such that the facilities will be barely visible from Crestridge Road and not visible from existing homes in Rancho Palos Verdes . Therefore, these facilities can be constructed so as to not adversely affect the health, peace, comfort, or welfare of persons residing or working in the sur- rounding area or be materially detrimental to the use, enjoyment, or valuation of property of other persons located in the vicinity of the site, or jeopardize, endanger or otherwise constitute a menace to the public health, safety or general welfare. Section 3. Given its proposed use, the site being 5, 000 square feet is adequate in size and shape to accommodate the yards, walls, fences, parking, landscaping, and other development features described in this Resolution, or as otherwise required in order to integrate said use with the uses in the surrounding area. Section 4 . Given the proposed use, the site is adequately served by a street, Crestridge Road, a fully improved public road with a paved roadway width of 64 feet, which is sufficient to carry the kind and quantity of traffic such use would generate. Section 5. For the foregoing reasons, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby grant to Southern Califor- nia Edison Company a conditional use permit for a microwave relay station on said real property subject to the following attached con- ditions marked Exhibit "A" , which are necessary to protect the health, safety, and general welfare in the district. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of March , 1975 . A suitable screening and landscaping plan be developed by the applicant and approved by the Director of Planning to ensure the maximum screening and softening of the project. 2. Grading on the site adhere to the A.P.C.D. standards. 3 . Mutual use of facility with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes is acceptable to Southern California Edison Company if the City' s use is compatible with that of Southern California Edison Company. 4 .
