CC RES 1976-015 % i { CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA . RESOLUTION NO. 76-15 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING . TO DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE,REQUIRES THE FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN THE AREA ALONG AND ADJACENT TO PALOS VERDES DRIVE WEST, BERRYHILL DRIVE AND CERTAIN POLE LINE EASEMENTS. • WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 38 establishes a procedure for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as an initial step in such procedure the holding of a public hearing to ascertain whether public necessity, health, safety, or welfare_ require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service in any such district; and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that such an underground utility district, hereinafter called District, be formed in the area along and adjacent to Palos Verdes Drive West, Berryhill Drive and certain Pole line easements. WHEREAS, the Franchise Committee of the City of Rancho. Palos Verdes met and determined on February 11 , 1976, that the area along Palos Verdes Drive West between the northerly city boundary and Rue Beaupre deserve the highest priority in the usage of allocated underground utility funds. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 , NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes on April 6, 19 7 6,'Iuesd ay,at the hour of 7: 30 p.m. at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, California to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication or similar or associated service and the removal of existing overhead electric and communication facilities within the area designated herein. SECTION 2 . At such hearing all persons interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard. The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned by mail of the time and place of such hearing at least ten (10) days prior to the date thereof. SECTION 4. The area proposed to be included in the District is shown upon that certain map entitled Palos Verdes Drive West Underground Utility District, which is on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.
