CC RES 1977-074 RESOLUTION NO. 77-74 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ADOPTING 1977 SUPPLE- MENT TO THE UNIFORM STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION, 1976 EDITION WHEREAS, members of the Southern California Chapters of the American Public Works Association and the Associated General Contractors of America, work- ing as a committee, have compiled a 1977 Supplement to the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 1976 Edition, and WHEREAS, a uniformity of standards will serve to minimize conflict and confusion in public works construction and will tend to lower construction costs for future public works projects through competitive bidding by private contractors, and WHEREAS, the City adopted the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 1976 Edition on October 5, 1976 Resolution No. 76-72, and WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets and the City Engineer were both represented on the committee which compiled the 1977 Supplement and have both recom- mended its adoption. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes resolves that: 1. The 1977 Supplement to the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 1976 Edition, prepared by the APWA-AGC Joint Committee of Southern California, be adopted as an integral part of the Standard Specifications covering all future public works construction within the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. 2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this reso- lution to the County Road Commissioner as the City's Superintendent of Streets and to the County Engineer as its City Engineer.
