CC RES 1977-026 RESOLUTION NO. 77-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ESTABLISHING HAWTHORNE BOULEVARD UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 38. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 10002, of Ordinance No. 38, consultations have been had with the Southern California Edison Company, the General Telephone Company of California and the Palos Verdes Cable Television, the utilities affected by the proposed establishment of an underground utility district comprising the same area as Hawthorne Boulevard and adjacent areas, and WHEREAS, a public hearing upon the matter of the formation of said under- ground utility district has been duly noticed to be held on April 19, 1977, and, WHEREAS, this is the time and place for said hearing, and the City Council having heard and received all evidence presented and being fully advised in the premises; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That it is in the general public interest that an underground utility dis- trict to be known as the "Hawthorne Boulevard Underground Utility District" be established within the hereinafter described area. Section 2. That within said district existing overhead electric and other utility facilities shall be removed and replaced with underground facilities and that any future or new electric and other utility facilities located within said district shall be underground facilities. All persons owning property within the district shall make all necessary facility changes on their premises so as to receive electric and other utility service underground within 60 days after the last Southern California Edison Company handhole structure and capped conduit to property line has been installed. Section 3. Underground of existing overhead electric and other utility facilities within the said district will eliminate the present concentration and avoid future concentrations of overhead electric or other utility facilities. Section 4. The area comprising the Hawthorne Boulevard Underground Utility District is shown on the map attached hereto and made a part hereof.
