CC RES 1979-018 RESOLUTION NO. 79-18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN AND SUPPORT OF THE SOUTH BAY JUVENILE DIVERSION PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach on behalf of the cities of Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Torrance operates the South Bay Juvenile Diversion Project which has residual funds of approximately $12,000; and WHEREAS, the Uniform County Justice System Subvention Program (AB 90) was enacted to assist counties in maintaining and improving local alternatives to state incarceration. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes as follows: Section 1. That the City Council agrees to participate with the other South Bay Cities in utilizing as judiciously as possible remaining funds through continuing the South Bay Juvenile Diversion Project from January 1, 1979 to March 31, 1979, providing services to diverted youth and pursuing funding sources for the diversion project's continuation. Section 2. That the City Council agrees to participate with Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and Torrance in requesting AB 90 funds and seeking other funding sources.
